Drawing Salve
Part of a good first aid kit, this drawing salve has charcoal, clay and castor oil which work together to draw out boils, splinters, and other foreign pieces from under the skin. It can also be used on insect bites, bee stings, infected ingrown nails, and blackheads.
Ingredients include: avocado oil, safflower oil, beeswax, activated charcoal, kaolin clay, castor oil, sunflower seed oil, lavender oil, tea tree oil, d-alpha tocopheral
acetate (Vitamin E oil), sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, rice bran oil, plantain leaf, dandelion flower, comfrey leaf, lavender buds.
Available in a 2 oz. size currently.
Apply a small dab with a clean finger or cotton swab to the affected area and cover with a bandage as it can stain. Repeat as needed, may need up to a week.
According to traditional use, some of the benefits of the botanicals in this salve are as follows. Lavender helps many different skin conditions and tea tree oil is an effective antiseptic agent. Dandelions can help heal damaged or dry skin. Dandelions also have pain-relieving properties. Comfrey leaves help new skin cells grow, reduce inflammation, and keep skin healthy. All of the oils were chosen for their skin nourishing properties.
